When I first started on social media I was in my mid 30s excited, passionate, and looking to help everybody in the world make it in tech. Fast forward to today and I realize and I hate to say this, but some of you folks just ain’t gone make it!
Thats the hard truth. Because I having gone through burn out after burn out. And giving everything I had to people even when I had nothing left to give that some people just want your time, energy, attention, validation, and are not serious about improving their lives. They just want to drain who ever will give them the opportunity to. And at that time I was wearing a cape looking to save the day. Only to end up mentally drained and physically weak. With nothing left to give my family and ultimately myself.
If you can relate to my struggle I suggest you stop that save the world bs right now!!! There’s a better way. But 1st you have to work on yourself and become whole before you can help anyone else.
Here are 6 tips that you need to apply right now to get yourself back on your purpose and living your life for you.
Most people will say you need to learn to say no. NO! Just say the word. Say it on the job, on social media, in your relationships, to people you think you should help and to anything that seems like an immediate great opportunity. Remember this, anytime you say yes to someone you are saying no to yourself.
Along with saying no it’s time to stop caring what people think. The only person you should seek to please is yourself. Now if your morals are jacked then you need to work on that. Also, if you start saying no to everything then you can learn who you are because you will have time to focus on you. Then you will realize what you need, want, enjoy and have time to do. Once you are whole those that love you will be pleased inherently. As for everyone else, fuck em!
This should be number 1. But since you aren’t saying no and you are a people pleaser you probably aren’t taking the time to pray and meditate. So, YES above all else you need have a personal and spiritual relationship between you and God. Church is great but you need that alone time with God. That means one on one time by yourself, listening, talking, feeling, reflecting and doing all the things to heal and gain the clarity of yourself and your purpose for being.
Again, if you aren’t doing the 1st 3 items in this list to take care of you mentally, then I am sure you aren’t working out to take care of yourself physically. Get in the gym! Strengthen your whole body. Bench, deadlifts and squats. The 5x5 is a great workout program to start with. If you can’t do that then walk and do home workouts.
As you are doing all the things I mentioned, keep a journal. Begin writing out all the things you want for your life. You can even make a list of the things you don’t want. This will help you visualize your future your purpose and internalize who you truly are.
Who you think you are, what you believe about yourself, and your since of self value are all true. What you think and feel about you on the inside reflects on the outside.
Now I am sharing this list to help you. It was made through my own painful journey. Many of you look at me thinking I was successful. Maybe externally I had success, but internally I was a failure. Why? Because I never said yes to working on myself and who I truly am. This is the most important journey in life. The journey of self. No, focusing on you is not selfish! The more we work on ourselves the more valuable we become to the world! Put your mask on first!
Until the next one!
Peace,
